Clean up time has always been an ordeal around our house. The girls think our living room is an extension of their bed room, so toys get scattered everywhere. We have tried to teach the girls the importance of putting away toys that are not being used. I do not believe that it has sunk in yet…
“Elsa and Celeste, let’s put your toys away before we head to the library.”
“DADDYYYYYYY, we can’t do that. It is too much work. We will get too tired,” Elsa complained.
“We will not go to the library until the toys are put away”
After a bit more coercing, the girls were finally motivated enough to put away most of their toys. However, I believe that I somehow ended up putting the majority of the toys away.
At the library, Elsa and Celeste quickly made friends with a few other little girls. They played for a long time at the miniature kitchen. Soon they were all playing house. A little girl named Belle quickly assumed the roll of mommy. Belle was about a half of a head shorter than Elsa, but Elsa became known as the oldest daughter. Celeste and another little girl, Ella, played as the youngest daughters.
All the girls had a great time making dinner along with Halloween cupcakes. Not sure why Halloween cupcakes are made in the middle of summer, but they seemed to know exactly what they were doing.
At one point during the game, Belle tripped over a book on the floor.
“Girls, it is time to pick up some of these toys,” Belle told the other girls.
“Yes mommy,” Elsa replied.
“Okay mommy,” Celeste agreed.
Before I knew it, all the girls were picking up the toys on the floor at the library without any complaints… I think I need to get some tips from 4 year old Belle…
